Initially I sat on the floor on a pillow propped up against
my couch. I closed my eyes and listened
in order to follow his commands. It took
a minute to get in tune with what he was saying. I became relaxed and felt the blood flow into
my arms and hands. My arms felt very
warm and my hands felt tingly and mildly pulsing with heat. Then my phone, which was next to me buzzed, I
opened my eyes and my arms immediately got cold. I stopped my phone from buzzing quickly, but it
threw everything off. It was very hard
to get back into the meditation after that.
I tried but I was basically listening on the surface. I will have to try it again with the phone
turned off. I did feel the relaxation
for a brief period of time. The power of
suggestion, intention, concentration, and in my case distraction of the mind is
amazing.

ReplyDeleteI find it very hard sometimes to do these exercises because my mind starts to wander and I start thinking of all the things I need to get done or any of the other million thoughts racing through my head.It is definitely important to find a quiet place where you will have minimal distractions at least until you get the technique down and you "train" your mind. It is amazing what you can block out if you are completely intuned to the exercise you are doing. This one was pretty cool and I hope that you have better luck on your next attempt.
